Welcome to the new blogsite of the Town of Carmel Historical Society, Carmel, New York.
Our website is somewhat restricted in space and format, and a blog will allow us much more freedom. Our hopes:
- to keep the public advised of our activities, and the coming events in the area.
- to relate historical incidents from the Town of Carmel and Putnam County online.
- to publish genealogical data, from our own archives or private collections.
- to provide links to other sites with useful information.
- to point out sites in Carmel and vicinity in need of preservation... and what is lost.
- to honor historians and history buffs aiding the cause.
Access to the comment pages will be kept open, so as many as possible can participate. (Keep comments pertinent and polite, please, and without the soapbox.)
